Adults/Families

Learning can be a life long adventure. Join the Virginia Living Museum staff biologists, naturalists and scientists to explore the natural world in special adult-oriented and family programs. Advance registration is required for many adult and family programs. For more information or to make a reservation, call the Reservations Coordinator, at 757-595-9135, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Adults enjoy activity-oriented programs presented in a relaxed, hands-on format and that combines classroom instruction with opportunities to examine specimens from the Museum’s extensive collections and up close encounters with live animals.

Travel with Museum naturalists to discover the enchantment and beauty of our natural world. Our safaris offer an excellent opportunity to visit places you may not see on your own—even to sites not ordinarily open to the public.

Homeschool families will find exhibits related to national science standards. Download FREE curriculum guides before your visit. During the school year, the Museum schedules morning and afternoon programs just for homeschool families. Program dates have not yet been selected for the 2016-17 school year.
