Early Birds (ages 4-5)
Professional staff provide each child with a sensitive appreciation of the natural world. Friday or Saturday, 9:30-11am.
Saturday Science Explorers (ages 6-8)
Children ages 6-8 explore creatures large and small, inside and outside. Saturdays 2-4:30pm.School Year Program Details
Have your birthday party at the Virginia Living Museum for a unique and fun celebration! Enjoy a private party room, an animal presentation just for your group, and access to all the VLM has to offer from its indoor exhibits to the outdoor trail. Member rates are available.Birthday Party Options
Story Time is the third Saturday of each month at 10am. Enjoy nature-related stories. Recommended for ages two and above. Included in regular Museum admission.
The Museum offers FREE grade-level-targeted guides to its living exhibits to homeschool families. During the school year, the Museum offers several morning and afternoons of natural and space science programs.
NEW Playdate with Nature & Playdate Field Trips
Make a play date with your little naturalist! Connect to your child and to nature, than with this new interactive outdoor program for children ages 4-10. Offered on selective Wednesdays and Saturdays. Playdate field trips are offsite and Playdate with Nature included in Museum admission, but advance registration required. Read more…
Astro and Family Camp-ins
Groups spend Friday night at the Museum learning about all things celestial. Dates are by request based on staff availability. Read more.

Summer Programs 2016
Children ages four through grade 5 can meet live, touchable animals, explore the Museum and enjoy crafts and other activities in week-long summer programs that explore nature and space. Register early, popular programs sell out quickly.
Kids ages 4 through grade 5 can explore physical science, animal champions, dinosaurs, space and more in half-day programs.
