Family Outdoor Playdates

Grab your family and make a date with nature at the Virginia Living Museum!

Each month a VLM educator will introduce a fun way for you and your family to interact with the natural world around us. Collect bugs and examine them up close in your very own bug box or learn about plants and take some home to grow in your own garden. All supplies are included. For any questions, please contact the reservations office at (757) 959-9135.

Cost: $18 member children, $20 non-member children (4-10). Adults are free and must accompany child(ren). All attending must register.  Does not include museum admission.
Ages: 4-10 years old + Families
Times: 10 am and 1 pm
Program Length: 1.5 hours

DoDad’s Lab – December 27, 28, 29

DoDad's Lab logoDoDad’s Lab is known as the funniest science show in Central Florida, and we want you to come experience the fun with us! Professor DoDad will be making an appearance right here at the Virginia Living Museum on December 27, 28, and 29! Catch one (or two) shows on either December 27, 28, or 29.

Science is Fun – 11:00 am

Professor DoDad brings fun to learning science principles and STEM education. Enjoy breaking down science by using Observe, Analyze, & Deduce! Experience are the “The Cotton Candy Vortex Rings”, “TP Shooter”, “The One Breath Bag”, and “The Incredible Growing and Shrinking Head”.

Super Hero Powers Revealed – 1:00 pm 

Professor DoDad reveals superhero powers with optical illusions, experiments with sound, light, and even floating a child off the ground! This show features lots of audience participation, family-friendly humor and safe and fun science experiments.

Cost: Included in Museum admission. Museum members free, non-members $20, children ages 3-12 $15. Children ages 2 and under free.
