Virtual Programs at the Virginia Living Museum
All programs will be via Zoom Webinar. If another platform is preferred it must be disclosed at time of booking and is the responsibility of the booking party. A test call is required for all virtual programs.

Length of Session: All classes are 30 minutes long with a Q+A session at the end of the program.

Reptile Lifestyle
Grades: Elementary and Middle School
Description: Learn about different kinds of reptiles and their lifestyles. Where do they live, what do they eat, how do they survive, and more! Have the opportunity to meet some amazing reptiles as well!
Animals of Lore and Legend
Grades: Elementary and Middle School
Description: Gather around and listen to the lore behind some of your favorite animals.
Meet animals of the legends and learn why these animals are spectacular, not spooky!
Wild in the Water
Grades: Elementary and Middle School
Description: Celebrate animals that live in the water by learning about how different water animals
and their adaptations. We are sure to meet some awesome animal friends along the way!
Animal Tale of Tails
Grades: Elementary School
Description: Do all animals have tails? What do they use them for? Let’s look at some of our live animals and put on animal tails to find the answers.
Lost Dinosaur
Grades: Elementary School
Description: Help a baby dinosaur find its way back to its nest. We will meet live animals and discover dinosaur artifacts along the way!
Backyard Conservation
Grade: All Grades
Description: Why are animals in our own backyard so important? Observe our various animal ambassadors here at the Virginia Living Museum, discuss why they are with us, and ways we can help protect their wild
counterparts.
Virtual Planetarium Programs
Virginia Skies
Grade: K-12
SOLs: Vary by topics covered/grade level
Description: Explore the evening sky as it will appear around the time of your program. Constellations, visible planets and deep sky objects will be highlighted by your astronomer during your tour. Additional topics may be covered by request.
Day & Night
Grade: K-1

Description: Explore shadows and how they help the Earth have day and night. Daily and seasonal changes in the position of the Sun in the sky, and their usefulness in telling time, will also be discussed.
I Need My Space
Grades: Elementary School
Description: Explore space from the comfort of an armchair! Venture into the planetarium for a live, guided tour through the solar system and discover the amazing properties of the planets. We’ll then return to Earth and show you how to find these incredible objects (and others!) in your night sky.
Worlds in Motion
Grade: 4-6
Description: Explore why objects move across the skies of Earth, why Pluto is no longer a major planet, how fast you are moving when you’re sitting still and other amazing topics…all connected by these worlds in motion.

Description: Connect with our local ecosystems on this guided tour. Discover some unique adaptations of both plants and animals and how they work together to survive.

Description: Explore the way energy flows through an ecosystem. Through this journey, learn the importance of the relationship between producers and consumers and what role we as humans play in the food web.

Description: The Virginia Living Museum is home to many wonderful animals. Each one has a story to tell and lessons to teach about how we can be environmental stewards to protect our local wildlife and ecosystems.
