Event Rental Packages

Virginia Living Museum Rental Packages

Package
Includes
Museum & Grounds Package Includes all indoor exhibit areas on both levels, Changing Exhibit Gallery (if exhibit is open), outdoor deck and trail, amphitheater, and Garden Package. Maximum capacity of 600 guests total. Setup and rental times will vary based on availability. 
Entire Museum Package Includes all indoor exhibit areas on both levels, Changing Exhibit Gallery (if exhibit is open), the outdoor deck, garden and amphitheater. Excludes the rooftop observatory patio, outdoor trail. Dance floor setup on the main floor and table/chair setup is also included. Rental is 5 hours with a maximum capacity 400 guests seated (reception style) or 500 guests standing (cocktail style). Max 500 guests. (6pm-11pm or 7pm-12am only)
Main Floor Rental Package Includes access to all exhibits on the main floor and the Changing Exhibit Gallery (if the exhibit is open). Dance floor setup on the main floor and table/chair setup is also included. Rental is 4 hours with a maximum capacity of 200 guests seated (reception style) and 300 guests standing (cocktail style). Max 300 guests.
Micro Event Rental Package Includes access to all exhibits on the main floor and the Changing Exhibit Gallery (if the exhibit is open). Dance floor setup on the main floor and table/chair setup is also included. Rental is 4 hours with a maximum capacity of 75 guests total.  
Changing Exhibit Gallery Package Includes access to the front lobby and Changing Exhibit Gallery only. Dance floor setup and table/chair setup is also included. Caterers may also choose to stage in rear of CEG for this package. Can be rented during museum operating hours. Rental is 4 hours with a maximum capacity of 120 guests seated (reception style) and 150 guests standing (cocktail style). Availability varies, Max 150 guests.
Garden Package Includes lawn area (can be tented), waterfall, and greenhouse. Package is weather dependent. Table and chair setup is included. Tents may be rented and set up at the clients expense through a third party vendor. Package is available during museum operating hours. Rental is 4 hours with a maximum capacity of 250 guests.

Additional Information
Outdoor Amphitheater Includes stage and built in seating for 100 people, weather permitting. Maximum rental time is 2 hours with a maximum capacity of 125 guests (chairs may be added at rear of the theater) Can be rented during museum operating hours. This can be an added on to any day rental or after-hours rental package.
Planetarium Program A 35-minute program for a group with a maximum number of 71 guests. Does not include museum admission or access. Based on availability. 
Add-on: Additional Museum Access Cannot be a stand alone package- add on only.
Add-on: Outdoor Trail Cannot be a stand alone package- add on only. This can be added to any after-hours rental package. Allows unlimited access to the outdoor trail. 
Add-on: Rooftop Observation Deck and Stargazing Cannot be a stand alone package- add on only. This can be added to any after-hours rental package. Allows access to the observation deck for a small seated reception or cocktail event. Can include Stargazing for an additional fee and availability of staff. 
Add-on: Animal Programs Cannot be a stand alone package- add on only. This can be added to any day rental package or after-hours rental package. Gives a unique 15-20 minute close-up animal encounter(s) with some of the VLM’s various animal ambassadors. Specific animals and multiple encounters can be requested. Pricing subject to change based on availability and animal of choice. 
Add-on: Custom Dive Experience Cannot be a stand alone package- add on only. This can be added to any day rental package or after-hours rental package. Gives a unique experience for a gender reveal or other type of dive. Inquiry for more details. Pricing subject to change based on availability. 
On Site Photo Booth Adds a creative and personalized touch to your event and provides hours of entertainment for your guests. Cost effective party favors; Double strips – One for your guests, one for the party album.

Features: 4 hours of unlimited photo strips – color, black & white or sepia tone; Complete set up by our booth Technician to ensure event runs smoothly; Optional custom event graphic featuring the name and date of your event; Thumb drives available of all of your event photos.


Day Rentals

Board Room Fee includes 2 hour rental during Museum operating hours. The Board Room is located downstairs in the administration area of the Museum. Additional hours are billed at $50 per hour. Does not include Museum admission. Room includes seating for up to 20 guests around a central table, projector and screen, and internet access. Television is also available for use.
Classroom/Laboratory Fee includes 2 hour rental during Museum operating hours. The Classroom/Laboratory is located downstairs in the administration area of the Museum.  Additional  hours are billed at $50 per hour. Does not include Museum admission. Room includes seating for up to 50 guests. Projector and screen with internet access are also available for use.
