Join us for a day of vibrant activities dedicated to creating clean habitats where all life can thrive! Discover the magic of butterflies and engage in crucial environmental efforts as we celebrate both the beauty of nature and our commitment to reducing our impact on the environment.
Butterfly Celebration
Butterfly Releases: Witness the enchanting moment as butterflies are released into their natural habitat. Observe and assist our staff as these delicate creatures take flight.
Explore the Butterfly Haven: This is your last chance this season to explore our Butterfly Haven. Search for butterflies and their host plants in this specially designed habitat.
Upper Level Activities:
Animal Show – 11:30 AM & 1:00 PM: Learn how various animals adapt and survive in their environments at the How Life Survives Discovery Center. Butterfly Collections: Get up close with a range of butterfly specimens and discover their fascinating body parts and life stages. Butterfly Bookmarks: Create your own unique butterfly landscape using stamps and paper. Make Your Own Butterfly: Craft your own origami butterflies or design colorful butterfly cutouts with our coloring sheets.
Community partner volunteers will kick off the day by collecting litter from our grounds.
11 AM – 3 PM Activities:
Learn about the vital work of our partners in managing and sanitizing water pollutants.
Balloon Litter Prevention Table: Discover how to prevent balloon litter and its impact on our environment.
Coastal Climate Change Hands-On Activities: Explore the effects of climate change on coastal areas and what we can do to mitigate them.
Green Teens Recycling Activity: Get involved in creative recycling projects led by our Green Teens.
