Homeschool days invite homeschoolers and their families for reduced admission and educational programs. Programs are divided by age group and the cost includes museum admission.
Endangered Species

Participants: Recommended for ages 6 and up
What is an endangered species? Why are species at risk of extinction? What can we do to help species in our backyard and the world at large? Find out the answers to these questions and more as we explore the endangered species of Virginia, and how important every species is for our planet.

Planetarium show – Reason for the Seasons

Time: 1:00pm-2:30pm
Participants: Recommended for ages 8+
Dissect a flower to discover its various parts while learning what role they play in pollination. Discuss the importance of pollination, how pollinators help, and ways we can protect and promote pollinators for healthy gardens.
