Tidal Wetlands Plants

Wherever we travel in Tidewater, sooner of later we’ll travel along or over a tidal-influenced waterway lined with a thick carpet of “marshy” plants. But what kinds of plants are they? How do they survive in their ever-changing saturated habitats? What roles do they play in our coastal ecology? Join Dan Summers, Virginia Living Museum Education Director, to learn more about our diverse and vital communities of Tidal Wetland Plants. Along with an introduction to some of the most commonly encountered plant species, the evening will feature a hands-on opportunity to examine and identify selections of these plant groups. No need to bring waders – hope to see you there!

This FREE lecture series is part of the Virginia Living Museum’s 50th anniversary celebration.
