Are you ready for a “wild” night of spooky animals, trail walks, pumpkin carving, pirates and princesses?

Night of the Living Museum returns to the Virginia Living Museum for its 16th year on Saturday, Oct. 17 from 4:30 to 8 p.m. This is a non-scary Halloween event for families with kids ages 12 and under.

Come dressed as your favorite character or wild animal.  Trick-or-treat throughout the museum as you walk through themed galleries filled with characters and themed decorations!

Enjoy live animal shows featuring fierce and not-so-fierce Halloween critters.

Discover pumpkin carving secrets in the Pumpkin Patch. Learn the ways of spiders large and small from the Spider Lady.

Visit tooth fairyland and pirate cave and meet creepy crawlies. Take a nighttime hike along the outdoor boardwalk.

Make creepy crafts and play Halloween games. There will be trick-or-treating for kids throughout the event.

See the spook-tacular laser show “Fright Light” at 8 p.m in the Abbitt Planetarium. This is a frightfully awesome mix of terror-ific tunes runs an hour long with wild and weird laser images accompany songs from Black Sabbath, Garbage, The Who and many more! “Fright Light at 8pm” tickets are $3 for VLM members, $6 for non-members in addition to Night of the Living Museum admission.

You can catch a 30 minute version of “Fright Light” at 5pm, 5:45pm, 6:30pm or 7:15pm for $2 for members, $4 for non-members for a shorter laser show experience!

The Wild Side Café and the Wild Things Museum Store will be open all evening.

Cost: VLM members $9 per person, non-members $12 per person. Purchase tickets in advance and save $1. Full price day of the event.
