For the eleventh year, the Virginia Living Museum will celebrate the long and healthy life of its wild turkeys during the annual Turkey Pardoning Ceremony.

Cost: VLM members free, non-members Museum admission $20 adults, $15 children ages 3-12.

Time: TBD

Location: Turkey/Deer Habitat

In the tradition of the annual Presidential Turkey Pardoning, Vice Mayor Saundra Cherry from the Newport News Mayor’s office will lead an indoor ceremony. After the ceremony guests will parade to the outdoor Turkey/Deer Habitat where the Museum’s four turkeys, one male and three hens, will then be called with a turkey caller and fed cracked corn while being officially “pardoned”.

For the month of November as a gesture of thanks and giving, the Museum will be doing our annual “Fill the Canoe” with non-perishable food items to benefit the Virginia Peninsula Foodbank.

All individuals who bring a food item will receive a coupon for a bottomless fountain drink or coffee at the Wild Side Café.

Please bring your non-perishable food items through November 30.
