Be a Veterinarian, Be an Animal Keeper

New Exhibit – Opens June 21

Calling all future animal keepers and vets!  Come play, learn and dream in our new permanent exhibit, “Wild & Well,” opening June 21.  Be an Animal Keeper and role play preparing various diets for the animals in the museum. The new exhibit comes with a play kitchen food bins, animal diet cards and animal holding cages with life-sized stuffed animals! Can you prepare a balanced diet for them?  Then, pretend to be a Vet and diagnose various native animals and prescribe and perform treatment to improve their health with a wide variety of play props, including examination tables, x-ray walls, and stethoscopes!  Who knows maybe someday our young vets and keepers will return to work here at the Virginia Living Museum!

Time: 9am-5pm daily

Cost: Included in museum admission

• 10am Ribbon Cutting
• 10am-2pm Wild Birds Unlimited bird feeding display
• 10am-2pm SPCA Information on adopting shelter pets and hurricane preparedness for pets
• 10:30am-12:30pm Face painting with Kolonial Klowns
• 1-2pm Members Only Mini Behind-the-Scenes Tours of Aquarium Food Prep, Animal Care, Herpetology and Vet Clinic.
