It’s a “Predator and Prey” day at the Virginia Living Museum to celebrate Groundhog Day and acknowledge the vital role that predators – like wolves – play in nature. Meet “Chesapeake Chuck,” the VLM’s resident groundhog, and learn about the special adaptations that he and his relatives use to survive in a world filled with hungry predators.
We’ll also feature a special focus on wolves and their relatives, who are fascinating examples of nature’s need for a healthy balance of predators and prey. Enjoy a variety of games, participate in team activities, and ask questions at our artifact table. It will be your chance to earn tickets for either Team Wolf or Team Groundhog. At the end of the day, tickets will be counted and a winner will be announced for everyone to celebrate! Chesapeake Chuck will also make his Superbowl prediction at 1pm.
Special activities: 10am-3pm.
