Reptiles and Amphibians Weekend March 23-24

Experience a close encounter of the reptile kind! A wide variety of native and exotic reptiles will be on display and in live animal programs. Enjoy seeing unusual reptiles displayed by guest exhibitors, as well as crafts, activities, and reptile-related planetarium shows throughout the weekend. Don’t miss out on the behind-the-scenes tour of the Herpetology Department each day! (Included with Museum admission; planetarium shows and behind-the-scenes tours require an additional ticket)

Virginia Skies Planetarium Show

Explore the evening skies above Virginia in this classic planetarium presentation. A staff astronomer will discuss seasonal constellations as well as any planets visible. Additional topics may be explored depending on celestial happenings around the time of your visit.

Eclipse Planetarium Show

Come to the planetarium to learn all about solar eclipses, how to safely view them, and when your next opportunity will be to see this grand spectacle of nature. Recommended for ages 10 and up.
