Jurassic Giants

Experience the largest animatronic dinosaur the Virginia Living Museum has ever featured. Our conservation garden will be the home of Giganotosaurus!

Experience a variety of other roaring, stomping, animatronic dinosaurs in indoor and outdoor galleries!  Journey back millions of years to the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods and experience life-like dinosaurs around every turn.

Dinosaurs will include indoor and outdoor galleries including the following Dinosaurs:

  • Giganotosaurus
  • Suchomimus
  • T.rex Photo-Op
  • Deinonychus Robot
  • Edmontosaurus
  • Edmontosaurus Nest
  • Euoplocephalus
  • Rogops

Canoeing for Beginners

Time: 10am – 11:30am

Location: museum outdoors

Cost: $15 per member, $35 per non-member. (museum admission included)

Join our educators to learn how to safely canoe! After learning the basics of canoeing and canoe safety, head out onto the calm waters of Deer Park Lake for a paddle. Ages 8+ and at least 50 lbs, all canoeing equipment is provided.

Canoes & Conservation

Time: 2pm – 3:30pm

Location: museum outdoors

Cost: $15 per member, $35 per non-member. (museum admission included)

Paddle Deer Park Lake while you learn about conservation efforts to protect freshwater ecosystems. Help measure water quality as part of an ongoing project to monitor the health of our local waterways and take a close look at the microscopic creatures who call the lake home. Ages 12+, all equipment is provided.
