Give Local 757 – May 11, 12am-11:59pm
Meet SARGE the Bobcat!
He is an exceptional Ambassador animal for the Virginia Living Museum, here is his story:
SARGE needs a new habitat!
Sarge has called the Museum home since 2019, after he was found on the side of the road near his mother, who perished after being struck by a car. He survived but sustained numerous injuries requiring veterinary care, including a fractured right forelimb resulting in amputation. As a result of his extensive injuries, he was deemed non-releasable and the Museum became his new home!
The excellent healthcare provided by the Museum, coupled with this young feline’s resilience and determination, resulted in a healthy, vibrant bobcat. Now that his recovery has progressed beyond the amputation, this young ambassador is pain-free and uninhibited and it hasn’t slowed him down a bit. Sarge is so rambunctious and spirited. Because of this Sarge needs a new habitat to provide him the space. Please help Sarge and consider a donation.
For 24 hours beginning at 12am, Tuesday May 11, anyone can be a philanthropist by donating a minimum of $10 to the Virginia Living Museum. Unlike traditional zoos, we are a sanctuary for orphaned, injured and non-releasable mammals, fish and birds. We connect people to nature through educational experiences that promote conservation. Visitors experience animals native to Virginia in habitats, discovery centers, and interactive exhibits.
Our 2021 goal is to raise $5,000 to upgrade our Bobcat enclosure. Here’s how you can help make this happen:
DONATE during Give Local 757.
SPREAD THE WORD to everyone you know on social media, by email, text, or phone.
FUNDRAISE by creating your own personal campaign to raise money.
Thank you in advance for your support to the Virginia Living Museum and to our community.
