Enjoy all-you-can-eat fresh local Virginia Oysters, fried seafood, chowder, and dessert! Local craft brews and bar, live local entertainment, and DJ. Live animal encounters and conservation education, commemorative glass, and prize opportunities in our beautiful conservation gardens.

The Museum Oyster Roast is an official Virginia Green Event.

All proceeds benefit the Museum’s award-winning conservation, education and animal programs.

Price: $65 (price increases to $75 on Monday, November 7, 2022)

Inclusions: Access to the event beginning at 3:00 pm, all-you-can-eat seafood, oysters, and dessert, a commemorative glass, and two beverage tickets for beer or wine.

*Due to the nature of this event, no guests under the age of 21 are permitted to enter.

*Tickets are non-refundable and the event will be held rain or shine.

Food and Beverage

Each ticket includes all-you-can-eat oysters, seafood, chowder and 2 complimentary drink tickets for beer and wine. Additional drink tickets available for purchase.

Seafood will be provided by Philips Energy and Sam Rust Seafood.

Decadent desserts will be provided exclusively by Smithfield Gourmet Café & Bakery.

Sip on a glass or two of wine and beer or try St. George Brewing Co.’s Oyster Beer – Lucky Shuck Irish Stout, brewed exclusively for the Oyster Roast Festival!

Conservation

As guests enjoy fresh Virginia oysters, over 38 bushels of shells will be collected during the event. The shells are shipped to the VCU Rice Rivers Center in Richmond, VA, and will age in storage for nearly a year before being placed in seeding tanks. After seeding, baby oysters will attach to the shells. Each shell may contain 10-15 spat, which would result in approximately 300,000 oysters being returned to the Chesapeake Bay.

The Oyster Roast Festival is a Virginia Green Event and is committed to the elimination of single-use plastics and sustainable event practices.
