Virginia Living Museum hosts a Wine & Food Gala for the Gods

The Virginia Living Museum’s 13th annual Bacchus Wine & Food Festival will be an elegant evening full of fine wines, local food, entertainment, and a silent auction Friday, February 3 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Virginia Living Museum, 524 J. Clyde Morris Blvd., Newport News.

The event will commence with the Divine Reception where guests will unwind and enjoy exclusive food samples, 90 plus rated wines, and soothing music from local artists. Following the Divine Reception is the main event where the Virginia Living Museum’s very own Bacchus, the god of food and vine and various mythological characters will await guests.  Wines from around the world, craft beer, and a diverse selection of delicious food will be featured from 23 area restaurants. Guests will hear a variety of live music from local sensations the Fuzz Band, PC Duo, Louis Vangieri/LCV Project, Zen Mojo and Magician Hugh Koontz. Chris Crank, Colonial DJs, will host karaoke in the café and Melissa Kepley from The Magickal Attic add to the entertainment. The Coastal Virginia Magazine has voted the fundraiser “Best of the 757” for four years.

Participating restaurant include: Abuelo’s Mexican Restaurant, Chef by Design, Cookie Text, Dier House Coffee Roasters, Donatos Pizza, The Grey Goose Café, Harpoon Larry’s Oyster Bar, Kismet Bistro, Nawab Indian Cuisine, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Schlesinger’s Steakhouse – Opus 9, Sinful Treats, Smoke BBQ Restaurant, Starbucks, Thaijindesu Thai & Sushi Bar, Trader Joe’s, Travinia Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar, Tucanos Brazilian Grill, Vintners Cellar Winery & Restaurant, Wild Side Café, Whitley’s Peanuts, Whole Foods and Zoes Kitchen.

Tickets for the Main Event at 7 pm are $60 through January 29, $70 beginning January 30th.  The Divine Reception beginning at 6 pm is $125 per person and includes the main event.
