Purchase your tickets online in advance or in person and get ready to discover the wonders of our museum.

New! Flexible Admission Times
As of January 2, 2025, your ticket allows entry at any time during operating hours, giving you the flexibility to explore the museum at your own pace. No more timed tickets—just a day of discovery on your schedule.

You are welcome to enjoy the Museum until we close at 5:00 p.m. Boardwalk closes at 4:30 p.m.

Go behind the scenes and get a closer look at the Virginia Living Museum’s animals and exhibits!

Please note: Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied at all times by an adult guardian 18 or older.

Admission Discounts

Military: The VLM offers active military personnel and veterans $1.00 off admission with valid ID. 

Senior: The VLM offers seniors 65 and older $1.00 off admission. Must present a photo ID at the front admissions desk to receive discount.

AAA: The VLM offers $1.00 off admission to AAA members. Must present a current AAA membership card at the front admissions desk to receive discount.

Enhance Your Experience with a Behind the Scenes Encounter!

Museums for All - an initiative of the Institute of Museum and Library Services

Through Museums for All, those receiving food assistance (SNAP or WIC benefits) can gain free or reduced admission to more than 850 participating museums throughout the United States simply by presenting their EBT or WIC card. Recipients may receive up to 4 general admission tickets at the reduced rate* of $3.00. Click here to find other participating institutions.

*Reduced admission does not apply to special events and exhibits.
