Sensory Needs
The Virginia Living Museum has partnered with KultureCity to become a Certified Sensory InclusiveTM location. Our objective is to provide an inclusive and seamless experience for all guests, including those with sensory needs. We strive to raise awareness of the needs and challenges faced by individuals with sensory processing disorders by supplying our team members with continuous training and by offering the resources and accommodations below to our guests. Guests may prepare for their visit by reviewing the social story available on the KultureCity app or at https://venue.kulturecity.org/venues/virginia-living-museum.
Sensory Bags
Sensory bags containing a VIP badge, fidget toys, noise-reducing headphones, and a visual cue card, are available for checkout at our Front Admissions Desk. There is no cost, we just ask guests to leave an ID. Bags must be returned at the end of each visit and are sanitized before the next use.
Weighted Lap Pads
A weighted lap pad is also available upon request (at no cost by leaving an ID) at our Front Admissions Desk. This is first come, first served.
