The Conservation Command Center invites guests to explore some of today’s most urgent environmental issues—such as habitat loss, pollution, and declining biodiversity—through a dynamic, local lens. This hands-on exhibit empowers visitors to become active participants in conservation efforts, both globally and in their own communities.
Guests can:
- Shape landforms in real time using our interactive augmented-reality sand table, transforming landscapes into waterscapes and back again
- Engage in three unique community science challenges focused on FrogWatch, Turtle Census, and reducing your carbon footprint
- Peer into our Trash Tank, a powerful visual of what aquatic life in the Chesapeake Bay must navigate due to pollution
- Discover the wonders of seahorse reproduction and conservation through our Species Survival Plan (SSP) seahorse habitat, where visitors can observe these fascinating animals courting, mating, and even raising young
Whether you’re a lifelong conservationist or just starting your journey, the Conservation Command Center offers an unforgettable opportunity to learn, connect, and take action for a healthier planet.
