Step behind the scenes and discover what it takes to care for two of the Virginia Living Museum’s most graceful residents, our white-tailed deer Artemis and Orion.
On this special tour, guests will visit the area where the herd’s daily browse and diets are prepared and learn how our animal care team keeps deer healthy, curious, and active through enrichment and thoughtful care.
Then head out behind the scenes to the back of the deer exhibit and get next to them at the fencing for the best part. You will have the chance to offer browse to Artemis and Orion, watching up close as they snack, explore, and show off their personalities. It is a rare opportunity to meet these iconic Virginia animals and experience them where they live.
