For Family level memberships, children ages 3- 17, who live at the main address, are included in the membership.
All children ages 2 and under are admitted free.

Can I apply my Museum ticket toward a membership?
Yes, you can.
If you’ve recently visited the Virginia Living Museum and are thinking about coming back, we’re happy to help you make the most of your visit.
On the day of your visit, a portion of your admission ticket can be applied toward the purchase of a new membership.
Here’s how it works:
Step 1
Hold on to your admission tickets or purchase receipt.
Step 2
Stop by the front desk during your visit, and we’ll take care of the rest.
A few things to keep in mind:
- Tickets can only be applied to new memberships & membership rejoins, not renewals.
- This offer applies to new memberships only
- Ticket purchases from multiple visits cannot be combined
- Special experiences, add-ons, or program tickets are not eligible to be applied
- The remaining balance for your membership will be due at the time of activation
It’s a simple way to turn a single day at the Museum into a full year of visits, exploration, and discovery.
General Memberships
Where can I access my membership card?
Membership emails are sent through Cuseum, so if you don’t see it in your inbox, be sure to check your spam or junk folder.
Access your membership email from your smartphone and click the “Download” button. Then select “Add to Wallet” and “Add.”
What If can’t find the email or access my card?
You can always request for us to resend the email by calling Memberships team at 757-534-7480 from 9 am to 4:30 pm, seven days a week, or emailing [email protected]
How do I add my membership card to my Apple or Android device?
After purchasing your membership, you’ll receive an email with instructions to download your card to your digital wallet.
Once added, your card is easy to access for each visit and can be shared with the second adult listed on your membership.
Can I visit if I don’t have my membership card?
Yes, you can.
If you don’t have your card with you, simply stop by the front desk and present a valid photo ID. Our team will be happy to look up your membership and assist you.
Donor Memberships
Do donor members receive a digital card?
Our Giving Level donors receive (2) personalized, printed membership cards mailed right to the address provided.
Membership Coverage
What are the age ranges for membership?
Youths are ages 3 to 17. Children ages 2 and under are admitted free. All guests under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Can youth covered by my membership visit without a named adult?
Yes. Youth age 16 years and covered by the membership may visit without a named adult. A valid membership card and photo ID (to verify age) is required for entry.
Can guests covered by my membership visit without a primary membership holder?
An adult named on the membership must accompany all guests covered by the membership and all youths under the age of 16.
Can my caregiver bring my children to the Museum?
A caregiver may bring your children, but they will need a valid membership or a purchased ticket to enter. Memberships only cover the named individuals, unless a Guest add-on has been included. If your membership does not include a Guest add-on, anyone not listed on the membership will need to purchase admission at the regular price.
Guest Tickets
How do I purchase tickets for guests not covered by my membership?
Discounted guest admission is available only through the guest coupons provided when memberships are purchased. These coupons must be presented at the front desk during your visit and cannot be redeemed online or over the phone.
Guests without a coupon are welcome to visit and may purchase admission at the standard rate.
What does my donation support?
The Virginia Living Museum, a public non-profit 501(c)(3) organization (54-6055922), is supported by people like you, to encourage and build a better community. Your gift supports engaging award winning education programs, 11 conservation programs, and exceptional animal care and welfare. The Museum is proud to be double accredited by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums, and the American Alliance of Museums.
