Virginia Living Museum Bacchus Wine & Food Festival Success
By thevlm In Press ReleasesFebruary 14, 2018 – The Virginia Living Museum’s 14th annual Bacchus Wine & Food Festival, presented by Old Point National Bank, successfully concluded February 2. It was an elegant evening of fine wine, local food and entertainment with 683 guests in attendance. The event raised $81,000 in support of science education and conservation.
The galleries of the Virginia Living Museum were filled with fine wines, diverse food samplings from area restaurants, and an eclectic mix of music and entertainment. The Divine Reception welcomed guests for the first hour with VIP treatment, exclusive tastings and a full pour of 90+ rated wines and the main event took place from 7pm – 10pm.
The night’s entertainment kicked off with the music of Matt Lockhart and also included the music of Zen Mojo, Louis Vangieri, Paul Urban and Friends, PC Duo and Brother Lucy ended the evening bringing everyone to their feet on the dance floor. Other Entertainment included card readings by Melissa Kepley, Magic of Hugh Koontz, games, silent auction, photo booth and appearances by Bacchus the god of nature, vine and wine and a variety of other mythical performers.
Participating restaurant include: Circa 1918 Kitchen & Bar New American Cuisine, Cookie Text LLC, Dock of the Bay II, Papa Murphy’s Pizza, The Grey Goose, James River Country Club, Nawab Indian Cuisine, The Neighborhood Harvest, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Schlesinger’s Steakhouse, Sinful Treats, Smoke BBQ Restaurant & Bar, Starbucks, Trader Joe’s, Travinia Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar, Whitley’s Peanut Factory, Whole Foods Market, Yanna’s Taverna and Wild Side Café.
“We are truly grateful for the amazing support from so many local entertainers, restaurants, sponsors, and retail donations pouring in from the community,” said Rebecca Kleinhample, VLM Executive Director. “Without this volunteer effort and tremendous support, the Museum could not continue our mission of education and conservation.”
