Pink Muhly Grass

Muhlenbergia capillaris

Height:3-4 feet
Light: Sun to light shade
Soil Type: Handles a wide range of soil types. Highly drought tolerant
Bloom Time: Late summer to early winter
Flower Color: Rose/mauve to magenta
Foliage: Grown for foliage, good fall color

Great plant to play against colors and forms of other perennials. Come fall, a billowy haze of rose-pink flowers wave gracefully above the foliage, persisting until frost.

Muhly grass can handle high humidity and heat. The narrow green foliage (resembling capillary tubes) is unusual and attractive in its own right, staying in a neat clump.

Pink muhly grass is becoming one of the most popular grasses for landscaping and attracts butterflies.
