Laser Mania

Recommended: ages 6 and above

Surveying soft rock, pop, and adult contemporary and easy listening music, this fun family laser concert is a beautiful artistic interpretation for all ages. Featuring music from over five decades, hearts, eyes and ears will enjoy the dazzling colors and laser art set to a collection of musical delights in an immersive visual environment. Laser Mania takes it to the next level with tracks by Weird Al Yankovic, Celine Dion, Beck and many more.

This program is family-friendly: Inappropriate song lyrics have been eliminated or blanked.

Zula Patrol: Down to Earth

While on a routine fossil-hunting expedition, The Zula Patrol turns up evidence that the villainous Deliria Delight has been travelling back in time to Earth’s prehistoric past to illegally dump her company’s toxic trash. The Zula Patrollers must find and catch her, before her actions cause catastrophic consequences. In the process, our heroes learn all about the formation and development of Earth, and the life forms who call it home. There’s even a cameo by everyone’s favorite dinosaur, T. rex!

Recommended: ages 8 and under with an adult.

Explore how dinosaurs lived and died in this educational planetarium presentation. A staff astronomer will lead you on a voyage back in time. Recline in one of our 70 padded seats in the full dome Abbitt Planetarium.
Everyone knows the tale of the sudden and dramatic death of the dinosaurs 65 million years ago. But did you know that numerous species of dinosaurs lived, and disappeared, long before the cataclysmic disaster at the end of the Cretaceous period? Journey with us to four different dinosaur digs around the world as we explore how these amazing creatures died… and lived!

Explore the evening skies above Virginia in this classic planetarium presentation. A staff astronomer will discuss seasonal constellations as well as any planets visible. Additional topics may be explored depending on celestial happenings around the time of your visit.
