Virginia Skies Explore the evening skies above Virginia in this classic planetarium presentation. A staff astronomer will discuss seasonal constellations as well as any planets visible. View the Sun from the Rooftop Observatory Take the elevator or stairs to the rooftop observatory and join us in viewing the sun safely every day! Cost: included in museum admission Weather permitting. In inclement weather there will be indoor UV light demonstrations.

Astronaut, the latest immersive planetarium show to be created by the National Space Center, takes you from Earth into space… and beyond. Kaluoka'hina: The Enchanted Reef The vastness of our planet’s oceans guards unimaginable secrets. One of its most precious is “Kaluoka’hina”, the enchanted reef whose magic protects it against humans finding it. Kaluoka’hina’s colorful inhabitants have thus always lived in peace… until the volcano erupts, and the spell is broken. Turtle Talk & Tour Come along with us & see several of the 24 species of turtles that you can find right here in Virginia. A Herpetologist will accompany you to explore places in the museum that is seldom seen by visitors to get a close encounter of the turtle kind! So book your tickets today to learn more about these terrific reptiles. The tour will include tantalizing facts about snappers, sea turtles & sliders. Tours last 45 minutes.
