Tiny Titans

Bring your little ones to learn about how dinosaurs raised their tiny titans. On display in our Changing Exhibits Gallery, this special exhibition is a remarkable hands-on exhibition that offers an astounding array of authentic dinosaur eggs and nests collected from all over the globe – including those of each of the major plant and meat-eating dinosaur groups. Kids can dig for eggs, dress up like a parent dinosaur to brood their nest, and feel the texture of dinosaur eggs. Cute babies and fun dino facts will keep everyone entertained on your next trip to the museum.

Fish Feeding

Vulture Enrichment

Enrichment activities are designed to elicit natural behaviors: to encourage the animals to forage and work for their food, patrol their territory on the lookout for other animals, and just be more active in general.

The Zula Patrol: Down to Earth

While on a routine fossil-hunting expedition, The Zula Patrol turns up evidence that the villainous Deliria Delight has been travelling back in time to Earth’s prehistoric past to illegally dump her company’s toxic trash. The Zula Patrollers must find and catch her, before her actions cause catastrophic consequences. In the process, our heroes learn all about the formation and development of Earth, and the life forms who call it home. There’s even a cameo by everyone’s favorite dinosaur, T. rex!

Recommended: ages 8 and under with an adult.

Cost: VLM members free, non-members $4 plus Museum admission.

Virginia Skies

Explore the evening skies above Virginia in this classic planetarium presentation. A staff astronomer will discuss seasonal constellations as well as any planets visible. Additional topics may be explored depending on celestial happenings around the time of your visit.

Cost: VLM members free, non-members $4 plus Museum admission.
